What is SPE?

Software Performance Engineering (SPE) research aims to build predictable performance into systems by specifying and analyzing quantitative behavior from the very beginning of a system, through to its deployment and evolution. Designers must consider performance requirements, the design, and the environment in which the system will run. Analysis may be based on various kinds of modelling and design tools.
